About Re.Imagine

Re.Imagine began in 2019 when the owners, Nan and Jeff Cole, purchased what at the time was the Ecclesia Baptist Church building. Nan was looking for a place to do furniture upholstery without having to pay rent or tuition while still covering costs. This 6,300 sq. ft. building fit the bill.

After an extensive renovation that was rudely interrupted by a pandemic, we put some of the private rooms out for rent and suddenly they were all rented to artists! We had envisioned that the gallery area would be used for some type of retail, and what better to use it for than art? And so, Re.Imagine Gallery & Studios was born.

We held a “soft” opening in mid-June of 2022 as a benefit event for Asheville Humane Society (Artists Unleashed – Painting with Puppies) and opened to the general public in August of 2022. Since then, the gallery has been featured in The Laurel of Asheville, Rapid River Magazine, Asheville Made Magazine, and The Fairview Town Crier. Our collection of fine arts and crafts continues to expand, we are now home to the Fairview Area Art League, and we offer a variety of creative workshops each month.
